                 Invisalign First clear aligners

                 Anterior crossbite and anterior crowding

Dr. John Brabant (New South Wales, Australia)
Dr. Brabant received both a Bachelor of Dental Surgery with Honors and a Masters of Dental Science in Orthodontics
at the University of Sydney. He has been an orthodontic specialist for over 30 years. Dr. Brabant is a past-president of
the Australian Society of Orthodontists (NSW Branch) and has been on the council of the Australian Dental Association
(NSW Branch). He was an Honorary Orthodontist at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children, where he treated children
                                 with cleft lips and palates.

              Patient: Initial records:

              Age: 7 year-old female
Chief concern: The main concern was her
underbite and crowded teeth. The patient’s
parents were worried that her lower central
incisors were continuing to move forward
and that the anterior crossbite was affecting
her ability to eat. They had heard from other
parents at her school that aligners were being
used to treat younger children nowadays.
              Diagnosis:
              • Early mixed dentition
              • Flat facial profile
              • Class 1 molar relationship
              • Anterior dental crossbite, with mild gingival
                 recession around the labially-positioned
                 lower central incisors
              • Mild upper crowding, moderate lower
crowding, and a mild upper midline
                 diastema
              • Moderate deep bite
              • Mild arch constriction with inadequate
space for the permanent upper canines
              • Lower midline deviated to the left
