PROPOSED RETENTION STRATEGY ABOUT THE AUTHORS
For retention, we proposed using vacuum-formed
removable retainers as well as bonded upper and lower
lingual retainers from UR3 to UL3 and LR3 to LL3,
utilizing 0.0175” braided stainless steel (co-axial).
We instructed the patient to wear the removable
retainers full time for 12 months, followed by nocturnal
wear for an additional 12 months, and then to wear the
upper retainer indefinitely for a minimum of four nights
per week.
